Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 1, 2026

This policy describes how Ash Quarry Media Inc. ("we", "us") handles information collected through ashquarry.org (the "Site"). By using the Site, you acknowledge having read this policy.

1. Information We Collect

The Site collects minimal information:

  • Contact form submissions: Name, phone number, and email address entered voluntarily through the contact form on the homepage. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry.
  • Server log data: Standard web server logs record IP addresses, browser type, referring URLs, and page requests. These logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and diagnostic purposes and are not shared.
  • Cookies: The Site sets a single first-party cookie to record your cookie consent preference. No third-party tracking cookies are placed. If you reject cookies, only the consent preference is recorded in your browser's localStorage; no data is sent to our servers.

2. How We Use Information

  • To reply to contact form submissions.
  • To maintain server security and diagnose technical errors.
  • To compile anonymised aggregate traffic statistics (page views by URL, not linked to individuals).

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Retention

Contact form data is retained for a maximum of 12 months after the last correspondence, then deleted. Server log files are purged after 30 days. Cookie consent data is stored only in your browser and is not transmitted to our servers.

4. Your Rights (PIPEDA)

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to:

  • Request access to personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Withdraw consent for processing where consent is the legal basis.

To exercise these rights, contact us at info@ashquarry.org.

5. Third-Party Links

The Site links to external resources including the Geological Survey of Canada, provincial geological surveys, university repositories, and public company websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

6. Security

Contact form data is transmitted over HTTPS. We maintain reasonable technical measures to protect data from unauthorised access but cannot guarantee absolute security for any internet-transmitted information.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
